The kind of food that a person habitually eats?!? Yes, the second definition is what one is restricting themselves from. But why is it so bad when you say that you are on a "diet" when in reality you & everyone else around you have always been on a diet? Why not call it something else? For example, I just say that I am eating clean. End of story. No diet with the negative connotation. Or one could say "I have a clean eating lifestyle."
